BLACKSAW WAS BORN WITH THE DESIRE TO CREATE MEANINGFUL POSSESSIONS WORTHY OF TAKING UP
SPACE IN YOUR LIFE. THE BRAND WAS CONCEPTUALIZED AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF TRAVELLING, WHEN

IDEA OF MEANINGFUL POSSESSIONS.

“I’ve always been a bit of a fiber snob, doing everything I can to choose natural
fibers first. When it came to putting my name on something that was intended to
last a lifetime, I knew we only had one way to go...natural, premium fibers that
feel amazing on your skin and stand up against the test of time. It had to be all
It comes down to the details: Premium sustainable fibers, transforming intricate
art pieces into reversible textiles, focussing on natural colours to avoid dyes. We
wanted to innovate. We managed to accomplish everything on our list, while
trying to keep the price down as much as possible. Premium baby alpaca, in our
signature weight, at our price point, doesn’t exists in the marketplace.
When designing our Siempre blanket, we dreamt of creating a traditional
heavyweight blanket, similar to a vintage wool, but using the perfect blend of
fibers, so that it felt soft, and had no itch. We created this from 100% recycled
fibers. At the the end of the day, we wanted to create and innovate, and I think
we have taken all the right steps in our first collection. Responsible Innovation
truly means something to me. If our brand can be the antagonist of fast fashion, I
will sleep well at night.”

“Look, at the end of the day, I just want to make incredible product, work with
people who inspire me and make some noise in a new category. Blow minds...
Make cool shit. Those are my feelings boiled down into 5 words. Blacksaw is a
vessel for creativity, partnerships and storytelling, 3 of my favourite things in life.
I’m really looking forward to partnering with like-minded people, continuing to
better our product assortment and building out our #MeaningfulPossessions
campaign. I think it is super important to get people thinking again about where
their products are coming from, the longevity of each item and if and why they
hold meaning. The Meaningful Possessions mantra is truly at the core of
everything we create. If it does not hold meaning to the bigger picture, it will not
be produced. Our brand is built on a strong ethical and sustainable foundation. If
we can make long lasting, meaningful products, give back to people in need, and
help the world in any way, shape or form, I feel like we are winning. If I can do all
that and live modestly in a van, awesome.”
